I'm thinking about getting a 30-inch scale baritone guitar, and was wondering what pickups to get for it. I'm pretty sure an Invader would be most appropriate, and I'll probably get one for it. But, what pickup would you suggest to go along with the Invader, which positions would you put both pickups, and why would you choose that combo? Also, any suggestions that don't include the Invader are welcome and will be taken into serious consideration if enough reason is there. The instrument is made of basswood and has a bolt-on maple neck with rosewood board, if this information is important to your suggestion. Thanks for all contributions in advance.
Oh ya, forgot to mention, if I do decide to get it, it will be used as a short scale bass, not a guitar.
I'd go with a Jazz/59 combo. I know it seems like it'll be really low output, but that contributes to clarity, which, IMHO, is something very desireable in a baritone. This set will keep your lows tight and your top end bright and spanky.

I'm in the market for a delay pedal, anyone have one up for sale?
GC, Musicians Friend, etc., are blowing out the Yamaha Magic Stomp for 129. If you don't mind doing deep editing via a PC, it's a great deal.
I'm selling a Line 6 DL4 delay modeler and power supply for $200 shipped. PM me if you're interested.

If I would have a tech install this for me, will it still intonate properly if I change my tuning and intonate it at the bridge? I mean, if I usually have my guitar in standard tuning and want to drop it to D, would I have to do anything with the nut or will it work as usual?
I've heard these things have some intonation problems as is. I'd go Feiten or stick with standard.

Hi Everyone!
Been a long while since I've posted. I just finished putting a set of Seth Lovers in my Hardtail Double Fat strat and sad to say I'm a bit dissatisfied still!!!
I started with the stock pearly gates , (too bright) went to seymour's pearly gates, (still too bright ), put in APHIIs, (still a bit too bright), Just put in Seth Lovers and now its to muddy and honky! I ordered '59s today. I want that strat to give me a low growl with some punch. I play mostly clean and bluesy.Think I'm finally on the right track or what? I'd love some opinions before the '59s arrive and are out of the box.

How do you write a song? Do you write lyrics first? How do you write down your guitar part? Do you write down TABS or musical notes? Explain.
Sometimes I work off of lyrics, but more often then not, the musical idea comes first.
I usually decide what key I want to play in, then start working on chord progressions and riffs in that key. I use modes to link the ideas together.

I am really jonesing for a new Strat. I have my mind pretty well set on a Fender 60's Strat in Lake Placid Blue. I love that model. The pickups, like most stock pickups, need to go. I would like to replace them with a set of nice meaty pickups that are a little higher output than vintage-type pickups. If Seymour made a quot;Texas Specialesquequot; pickup, that's what I would go for. Hum-canceling would be nice but not mandatory. Antiquities are an option too. Please give me some thoughts here.
Thanks much...
Go for the Antiquity Surfers with a 9.5K Custom bridge pickup...either the Surfer Custom or the Texas Hot Custom. The Texas Hot Custom will be alnico 2 and will have more mids and a pluckier chewier tone. The Surfer Custom will be alnico 5 like the Surfer neck and middle and will have a brighter and glassier tone. There is nothing better than the Surfers, IMO. There are some, like the Fralin Vintage Hots, that equal them, but none that better them, and the Vintage Hots are not quite as strong as the Surfers in terms of output.

I wasn't sure where else to post this, but I wanted others to be aware of the potential to get ripped off.
I ordered two body blanks (ash) on November 14th, and paid for them through Paypal. I ordered them from BRTguitars.com, and spoke with Chris there.
I never heard back from him, never received the order, and can't even get him to return my phone calls.

I know there's the legendary polytone, and BB king's lab series, and a few great Roland Jazz chorus amps-What makes these amps great? I've heard some great polytones and the incredibly chime quality they achieve with humbuckers and can't imagine the tone with Singles.
Anybody own any of these? What are their strong points besides headroom and portability? how much $$$$?
When I think of great JAZZ guitar tone... I think of Wes. He played thru a modded BF Princeton. When I think of Killer blues tone... I think of guys like Clapton on the Beano album. None of those tone can be had by ANY SS AMP!!! But I do believe That for some things the Roland Jazz Chorus is a nice AMP, and so are the quot;oldquot; Ploytones.

...but they seem to be out of stock everywhere. Anyone looking to sell one or at least know of a place that has them?
