well, in light of recent events, i think it's time for new speakers

I have a super 2 in my neck which is mostly high treble, average mids, and low bass. I was wondering if you guys think the level thick/bassy tone of pickups in the neck are based on the output of the pickup or the eq of the pickup. I don't have much experience with pickups so I just wondering.

Sam Ash locally had the only Vox AD 2x12 around,so I went and grabbed it...I haven't had a chance to play through it yet because it's late,but tomorrow I will.... Nestled between the Vox Valvetronix 120VTH is my Fender Cyber Twin...

Is it better to pick a pickup that is brighter than you normally like it for the purposes of cutting through? Or can that all be done through amp eq?

ive looked around and i cant really understand the difference in the tune o matics vs the tone pros..it says they're locking..but dont the tune o matics like lock in too ? if not wouldnt the tail piece just come out of the body when the strings are tightened or wouldnt it just take a little force to pull it out of the guitar ? any help is appreciated and sry if its been asked before i searched around but with the ammount of times quot; tune o matic quot; comes up its kinda like a needle in a haystack lol

Tube amp!?! Yeah...that's what I'm talking about. This is a long story and I don't want to bore anyone but, baught a Carvin SX amp couple years back.
200watts solid state, two twelve's. Decent amp. Well, my 16 year old basically took it over. Moved right in, put up a no vacancy sign.

I gigged for the first time with my 2 new Duncan 59's last night. I had a big problem with losing high end when I would roll my volume off on the guitar. I wired the pickups using the standard Humbucker wiring (option #1) on the Duncan schematic page. (2 volume, 2 tone). I used .022 ufd caps. I also replaced the pots on the guitar at the time I put the pickups in. I'm thinking that the 500k pots I bought for the volume (Fender 500k) are a potential issue also as the volume doesnt seem to adjust properly. (i.e. big drop in volume when I turn volume pot down just a bit). I cant believe Fender would sell linear taper pots for replacment pots rather than audio taper..but you never know.

I'd like to sell my Hardtail, and replace it with one of these. However, $2k is way out of line for these.

Anybody know anything about these amps besides what i can read at the site or any Harmony Central? Sounds like the quot;good clean/good distortion/easy-to-movequot; amp I've been looking for, and the weird color doesn't hurt... Think it's worth selling a 68 Silverface Bassman for?

sorry but i'll be ordering a set of pickups in zebra soon. I know that there's zebra and REVERSE zebra. And i don't know which is the one I want. I want something tt'll give me this colour combination from neck to bridge, creme/black (neck) and (black/creme). so how do I order it? reverse zebra zebra!?!?! Sorry for such a dumb qns.

I asked my Luthier about shielding my Tele. He didn't recommend it, stating that most of the noise is coming from the pickups themselves. He did recommend shortening the hot wire as a minor help. I'm now confused as to how helpful shielding is. The noise I'm interested in eliminating is the buzz that occurs when I step barefoot off my carpet onto my tile floor and also the noise that my rig picks up at a local venue that has copper wire deco lights running full length along the back wall (where we play...it's a huge buzz with my gear, not the other guitar player's. I actually had to stand perpendicular to the lighting wires last time we played there). I'm not really bothered by 60 cycle hum and I think that may have been what my luthier was thinking of. Any ideas?

wow did i land something i've always wanted...i'm still drooling and can't believe i bought it!!! a quot;strat headquot; Texas USA made schecter, all origional parts and electronics in nearly mint condition! i was told it's a 1982 which would mean it's a Tom Anderson era schecter and judging by the two strap pins and the low serial number that does make sence. anyway, here are the pics from the seller, it gets shipped out to me on Thursday and when it gets here i'll post a review. man i'm psyched!! this thing is gonna i'm sooo happy right now!!!
