Hi,if you put the following in column a and column b,
A Cook7.5
A Craig8
B Innes8
B Kirby7.5
C Gouder8
and you have the formula in cell c2: VLOOKUP(C1,A1:B5,2)
then when you can input the text in c1,e.g. a cook ,the corresponding value
will appear in cell c2,i.e.7.5
