I've been looking for an Excel s/s that will perform financial ROI's,
including periodic additons/withdrawals, such as the online app found at
cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/retur...returnrate.jsp.
I've searched high and low to no avail.
I want this app for a website that tracks investments for its users for a
particular 401 sort of pension plan.
Thanks!!!

You could certainly set one up using the XIRR worksheet function.

I believe the reason you haven't found anything is that the programming for this
is so simple, people just do it themselves. All you need to do is enter a column
of the cash flows, with a corresponding column of dates, and feed this
information to XIRR.
If you don't want to develop your own spreadsheet, most people would use Quicken
or Money as a preferred alternative. You can pick up previous versions for under
$30 on eBay.

I should have mentioned I'm using Excel 2000. I did the analysis pak add-in
and have tried the xirr, but can't get it to work, no matter how I enter the
dates. I tried even using the DATE function to list the dates but to no
avail. When I check microsoft, I find xirr referred to for Excel 2003 but
not for Excel 2000. Does XIRR not work in Excel 2000?
Thanks!!quot;Fred Smithquot; gt; wrote in message
