How come I cannot type a letter such as j and have the list in my drop
down box go to the j section of employees such as John Adams. I have a
list of employees for a weekly schedule.--

MatchEntry property, so the entry will autocomplete as it's typed.

There's an example here that uses a combo box to show a data validation
list:
