Several workbooks have refused to update linked cells at random. Closing and
reopening doesn't update links. Only recreating the link seems to work.
This has occurred on various computers, with various workbooks. Has anyone
experienced this and found a cause?

Have you tried going to the EDIT menu LINKS and then clicking on the STARTUP
PROMPT?

You may have calculation set to manual. Go to Tools =gt; Options =gt;
Calculation [tab] =gt; Automatic.

No, edit, startup doesn't work and link update is set to auromatic. Links
can also be within the same workbook on another sheet with this problem.
