One of my users has created a workbook for recording data in lists using data
validation to make the drop-down lists. She wants to prevent the spreadsheet
from being closed down if certain (other) cells have not been populated with
some text. Is this possible through normal tools without macros? I've been
scratching my head and searching help and this forum without success. We have
just started using XL2003.
only a macro could do that.....

Thank you for your very fast response Paul--I was afraid that would be the
case!
