A spreadsheet worked correctly for months but suddenly stopped
calculating. The function is =SUM(C2:O2) and is copied down for all the
rows.
Cells are formatted as accounting. I deleted and recreated.
Any ideas?
thanks!--

View this thread: www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=541177It might sound obvious, but check the calculation settings in Options.
Toolsgt;Optionsgt;Calculation
Make sure it's set to automatic, otherwise you'll have to hit F9 every time
you want to recalculate the sheet.
Hope that helps.

I have had this problem as well, excel keeps unselecting calculate automatic. Is there a default I can set for this?

Nope.
Excel will pick this setting up from the first workbook you open in that
session. If you're unlucky enough to open files that are set for manual
calculation, you'll have to remember to change it.
If you're the only one working on the file, make sure you save each workbook in
automatic calculation mode. Then the problem should disappear (after a
while???).
If you share files with others, make sure you open a workbook that has
calculation set for automatic first--or remember how to modify this setting.
