PRS already has 20th anniversary versions of the Singlecut listed on their website

Just noticed that too. I was wondering if they were gonna do that. I guess now I know. Just didn't think they'd have a 20th model this quick. But god that's a unusual but nice top on that blue one...

My guess is that the parts were ready and waiting, just in case .

there's only 3 months left for 2005(their 20th anniversary year). it wouldn't be a 20th anniversary guitar anymore if its released in 2006.

Nice!

Beats the hell out of a Gibson LP.

I think I need one NOW!!!!!
I was jonesing for a new strat.... WHY OH WHY PRS DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!!!!

Argh.. my fiancee' is going to kill me when she see's the money missing from the savings acct.
hehehehehehe
Such is life.
Loudriver

LOL... PRS has never stoped making singlecuts. they just waited in the back of the warehouse, covered by a dusty cloth LOL

they are hitting gibson with everything they got now that they're down

1... It´s good to be proven right for a change

Now all they need to do is start making left-handed guitars again and I'll actually give a ****.

You got that right. I'd rather pay for a PRS Singlecut than get a Gibson LP for free.

well, a PRS would be nice anyday but i could never say no to a free gibson

Just wait till Christmas and the NAMM show shortly after! It's gonna be RAINING SINGLECUTS!!! I'll bet they're cranking them out by the dozen and stacking them on pallets in Korea, ready to be shipped here for Guitar Center's 'Singlecutathon!!!quot;

In the US, PRS is probably scrambling to produce them in all kinds of exciting flame finishes and options! hahaha Gibson is going to be a bit angry this next season.
I love Gibsons and PRS's, so I'm all for competition!!!

I really hope they re-release the Singlecut Soapbar SE model, they aren't listed on the PRS site at the moment (though there are several models there).

The funny thing is, you called it Joe, and it appears it's coming true

seeing that..has made me think 'so why should i get a les paul??'

I'll give ya a hint....They won't sound or feel the same (note that it doesn't mean they will sound/feel better or worse...just not the same)

I'm gonna try one cos I love a PRS as much as the next guy, but I don't have high hopes on this being a Les Paul quot;killerquot;. People have been claiming Les Paul tones for years on this or that copy..but nothing ever sounds or feels the same.

The difference in scale length, neck/headstock angle amp; bridge style alter the tone enough as it is (and this is assuming the body is shaped identically and has the same mass/construction as a Paula).

Hell, even a Les Paul with a wraparound doesnt sound the same as a Les Paul with a TOM

I'm surprised it took PRS that long to do it.

I've got to assume that someone was on vacation and they didn't want to spring it on them when they got back.

But didn't I say they'd release some quot;special editionquot; Singlecut once they could again and charge a premium price for them?

That's not a difficult task.

prs may be doing well with the return of the single cut, but i dont think it willl earn the title of the les paul killer anytime soon. The les paul is a traditional guitar and orignal in its own right. Copies may be good but they are never the same. Thats just me anyways, id love to own either one, but given the choice gibson would be my choice.
