I just bought one of these in hopes of gettin that classic quot;waylonquot; sound. The intro to quot; Are You Sure Hank Done It this Wayquot;, and quot;Lukenbach Texasquot; sounded SO much like the record does! I plugged this baby in and was blown away by the accurate and authentic tone just like one those old records! If any of you are looking for a phase pedal, get an MXR Phase 90! Its the one pedal that i've heard and owned that actually sounds like the old records that i'm trying to immulate! This things well worth the $69.99 price tag. FenderBender
yep, i love my phase 90
i sprung for the EVH phase 90 so i could go from the script version to the regular version and i'm 100% happy with it, great sounding pedal!! i hate to use sig. gear but sometimes it's worth it...like it was with the evh phase and my dimebag wah.

This is easily gonna be my favorite effect, mainly because i've been after this sound for years and just found out last week that a phase shifter was what i was looking for, and like i said in my earlier post, i was blown away at how much it sounds like some of these old records that i love. -MikeI almost bought the EVH model yesterday. It is $129 at GC. I decided to go home and dial up the phaser on my TC Electronics G-Force before spending the cash. I was able to pretty close using the rack unit but the EVH pedal sure looks killler. Not a single negative review on HC either.
I also saw the EVH model on musiciansfriend.com when i ordered my phase 90. I really don't see how a EVH paint job and an quot;edginessquot; switch can make the price jump from $69.99 up to $129.99 for the EVH model. Also, i play country 90% of the time, so something with EVH's name and paint scheme on it wouldn't really belong in my collection anyhow. Now i'm glad i bought the regular phase 90, its the best pedal i've played with by far!FenderBender

I'd bet at least $30/40 per unit goes towards the endorsement deal, right into EVH's pocket! I bet a little Phase 90 would liven up Clint Black's quot;Walking Awayquot;.
Good call on the Clint Black tune.... but honestly, i'd wanna use it on EVERY tune!! But seriously, anytime i play most Waylon stuff, this phase 90 gonna be goin strong!
