from : localhost//website...split-par.html
i was looking for a nice bright sound for strat like tunes, and humbucking for lp tone, any idea what i did wrong?i left the Capacitor where it was,or should i take it off.i never hooked up my neck pup as i never use it(may do it next time)
thanks all for the info
these pups are duncan designed and from what i read they are just like the duncan distortion pups
norm
The capacitor is for the tone control only. It has nothing to do with series, split, or parallel, so we can ignore that for the moment. First, you need to make sure you have an on-off-on switch. If you do, then you just need to double-check your wiring and connections. That diagram is definitely correct.
I've been doing electronics for 35 years, and I'd say my average is 1-in-4 that I make a stupid mistake. You're in good company. Just double-check . . . carefully.
i have an on,on,on switch, that what it said to get series, split, parallel,i expected a single coil like sound,or was i expecting too much?
thanks
That musta been my 1-in-4 for today.
You are correct. Its on-on-on. I was caught up in my present project which uses on-off-on in a different way.
But still, the diagram is correct, and the quot;singlequot; tone should be dramatically different than the full humbucker tone. The single-coil and parallel tones may be similar.
Edit: And the on-on-on switch must be the style that works like this:
