Hello!
Well, this will be the last time when I`m going to ask this question here so try to convince me
I have a Fender American Stratocaster HH (two humbuckers) and now it`s time to get new pickups to my strat, both bridge and neck. I play it thru Tech 21 Trademark 60 combo. I have delay/phaser/tremolo effects. The stock PUs are great with cleans but something is missing in the distortion-side.I play emo/rock/pop/punk and sometimes even metal. I`m looking for a pickup which would work beautifully with both sides bright cleans/rich distortions. So what pickups would work perfectly with my alder body strat?
These are the alternatives what I`ve been thinking of:
Neck:
59
Jazz
Bridge:
Custom
59
Custom 5
Thanks again and I hope that I`m going to get over this problem and start to live my life again.
im in exactly the same position man, im looking for the perfect fat strat HB myself
however i would swing towards the jazz for the neck, its a very articulate smooth sound, which would complement a relatively edgy bridge pup..
have you thought about the JB for the bridge? listen to warning/dookie era green day, the main guitar has a JB in it.. its a hell of a good punk pickup, im pretty sure one of the bad religion guys has a JB as well..
for a 'bucker, the JB has very good cleans, too -many people like it's split sound as an alternative..

If you're thinking of a Custom for the bridge, you may also want to consider the Distortion (neck) for the neck. They're both ceramic magnets and balance beautifully. The Distortion has great sharp, clear, clean tone, and splits wonderfully.
It's what I have in my Patriot, (Strat-ish clone), and its a quot;keeperquot;.
i've never flipped over the cleans on ceramic mag pickups, i didnt know the custom was ceramic either.. learn something new every day hehe
