Can anyone compare Carvin's Twin Blade humbucker to Duncan's Hot Rails or Cool Rails in terms of tonal qualities? I've had both Hot and Cool Rails and the Carvin guys say that the Twin Blade is somewhere in between in terms of output. What I'm wondering is, can it shred like a Hot Rails in the neck? Or will it be more like a PAF type humbucker similar to the Cool Rails?
I'm curious too. I'll give ya a little bump.
If it's anything like their full-sized 'buckers, they arent that good.
in general ive never liked the sound of carvin pups. harsh and trebly
I'll also vote for the quot;stay awayquot; option when it comes to CArvin pickups. THey make great guitars..but really bad pickups.
And stay away I shall. Thanks, guys.
The thing that makes me think they are clueless when it comes to pickups is their line about how they use Alnico (which the catalog listed as quot;Alincoquot; for years), rather than cheap ceramic magnets. Oh yeah, Alnico = good tone
That and the fact that I've tried them and they suck
