do you have to custom order it or can you do it yourself.
if you can do it yourslf how do you and what equipment/skills do you need to do it

IMHO, the most important thing you need is good soldering skills and the associated soldering equipment. I wouldn't do it again without having some pickup-tape on hand either. (Which I do.) Sometimes the old tape just doesn't want to back on.

As stated on many forums... if you take the time to do a simple search you can avoid cluttering the board with unnecessary posts.

Take a look at this thread, where I show one taken apart. You just have to disassemble the pup. You remove the black tape, remove the four screws that secure the bottom plate, and then carefully pull the two coils off, being careful not to break the wires. Then you just have to remove the tape around the connecting wires and unsolder them.

It can be tricky. Be careful. Hopefully, BacktoRock will chime in. He's the resident expert.
