Hi everyone!
I've just bought a ravelle elite japan.
There are two humbuckers on this baby.
The Fernandes Sustainer and a VH-500S Fernandes Humbucker.
Sounds great, but I thought it could really kill with a SH-14 instead.
The big problem arrived as I opened the electronic cavity. It really looks like there's a computer in it!
While I can solder a pick-up with no damage, and while I can easy make my own computer, I still don't feel safe about touching the sustainer electronics.
I've sought after wiring diagrams in vain on the web.
That's the reason why I post here.
Does anyone could help?
Thanks.
If you search Fernandes' site, there is a pdf about installation of a sustainer kit which might have some info. Otherwise, look at where the bridge pup leads go and replace them with your new bridge pup leads. IIRC, the neck pup is part of the sustainer system and cannot be replaced, but Fernandes may be able to tell you that as well.
Yes Thanks! I've found a complete diagram on japanese fernandes website.
But strange stuff their diagram shows how to put an active EMG, while I thought most combination found used a ..
The pdf manual says:
quot; For best results, use the following wiring:
White hot, Red ground. Connect black and Green. Standard Duncan wiring may also be used.quot;
Ok..
let's face it I'm a complete newbie in sustainer stuff...
Where's the hot on the sustainer electronic? Where's the ground?
what standard duncan wiring may be used?!!!
That pdf should show where the hot and ground leads go for the bridge pup, although my recolleciton is it was just connected to the switch. That is from memory and not from Fernandes, though...
Standard SD wiring is green and bare (shield) to ground, red and white soldered together and taped off, and black to output.
danke schön.
Anyway, the best way to do it roght is to see how it is already plugged/soldered.
I found it just strange to read that to use a SD right I should finally reverse the wire rule.
