tons of questions along with various people looking to buy the elusive duncan designed HB-104 pickup pop up numerous times here on the forums and i just wanted to see what intrest there was from us forum members to ask the SD company to release the HB-104 pickup for aftermarket resale.
from Ducnan:
quot;The HB-104 is a high-output blade humbucker that's based on a design we created for England's Patrick Eggle Guitars. The guitar was short-lived, but the pickup lives on in some recent guitar designs from Schecter and Jackson.quot;
it was used in the Tony Iommi guitars by Eggle along with a few schecters as mentioned and now has a version of itself in a jackson if i'm not mistaken. (Evan can you clear up the Jackson info as to which pickup is actually in the Kevin Bond model?)
anyway, being that it is asked about and looked for so often i was wondering if we could petition it's release in either a duncan designed pickup as it was or even a better a 100% seymour duncan pickup (not designed) with USA made quality and parts.
so, who would have an intrest in this pickup?
-Mike
I want some!
Dude... we're talking full size Hot Rails here... Hell yeah!
I would love to have them. Maybe they would consider doing a run of them for forum members only or, just completly all together realeasing them????I Want!!!
That would be great, and a real Duncan model would be a good idea because I've noticed the Dimarzio X2N is getting increasingly popular.
I'd get one.
Count me in!!! DD or SD version.
I'd buy one... But i'd have to buy something to put it in...!... :\
I'd consider it... as the X2N is appealing to me. I like blade pups...
Add me to the list of people who want one. I've heard enough good things to shell out the cash, plus they look awesome!
Rock On
I would buy one!
I'm in for more blade Duncans too
I'm definately in
bump...Evan...any chance of this at all? or some info on the pickup Jackson is using?
-Mike
Yeah that sounds kinda cool
I'd be in.
Just keep in mind forum members here are only a very small percentage of customers and hardly representative of the general public. There is already the Dimebucker. It would be a nice addition to the lineup, but it may not be economically feasible for SD.
It'd be a very high seller, this style pickup and style tone is getting increasingly popular.
Its not a risk at all, its just an inteligent business move. If its even possible for them to make it to american spec.
i think many guitarists needs this pickup
I dunno what it's supposed to sound like but full-sized Rails have been my dream since I heard a Dimebucker and hated the tone, haha...
If it sounds like a Hot Rails, looks like a Hot Rails, and smells like a Hot Rails, but fits my Warmoth's routing.......i'm sold.
