I just bought a Mag Mic (for $199, Guitar Electronics in AZ) and I have a show coming up on Wednesday here in Los Angeles. Full band, vocalist (freedominguez.com) I have a Larrivee C-10 and I wanted a non-permanent way of amplifying the guitar and the reviews for this pickup are great. I look forward to trying it out. I saw something about an optional N Battery configuration. How is that done? I have a deal on an LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI and thought that would be a good way to go paired with the Mag Mic. Opinions would be welcome. Time and money are short, I will have to wait for the DTAR box. So, how do I install the N Battery option? Does the SA-6 / PADI set up seem viable?

The N option allows you to solder two little metal clips to pads on the PCB. Then you cut off the leads to the 9v battery and you now have a totally portable Mag Mic that runs off an N battery attached to the housing; rather than the remote wired 9v.

The Mag Mic will work great with the Baggs Para DI. Or the D-TAR Solstice for even more flexibility.

Bottom line: congrats. You've bought the finest acoustic guitar pickup out there.

Great pick-up... I keep it working with the 9v battery tho.

I just love the thing with my Taylor....Enjoy!

i use the magmic with the baggs para acoustic di and its great. its been working for me since the magmic came out, i had the di before and loved it, but the magmic makes it soooo much better. i use the 9v rather than the N option
