all my drivers are updated and my computer recognizes it and the levels show on the patch mix dsp and the sound comes through my speakers and cakewalk notices the sound card cause it has it for my out put and it lets me put it in for input yet it cant detect a signal even if i arm it i shut off patch mix and my sound shuts off wats i dont know wat to do i would call the help line but i had surgery and cant speak

patchmix can be a ***** to figure out at first, but I can almost guarantee it's something set wrong in that's causing it. go to the site and use the help section. I don't even remember how to set it up now because I've got my presets all made.

I have the same exact card...and I STILL can't figure out if I'm happy with it or not! LOL! I've heard rave reviews...but jesus, you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the software! I still have yet to patch a simple MIDI file to their built-in MIDI synth. It's a ridiculously involved process. I hope it's just that the card is wayyyyyyyy more card than I'll ever need...and the difficulty is somehow reflective of its total capabilities.

In any case,

I had the same problem that you're referring to until I went in and played with one of the quot;setupsquot;. I think after trying out all sorts of I/O adjustments and all, I simply loaded up their default setting from the drop-down window, and suddenly everything came back to life! It's definitely in your software.

Try this...

When you have Patchmix open, on the right hand side, right beneath the E-MU logo at the top left, click on the quot;newquot; icon (looks like a blank sheet of paper, then select the first setting quot;Digital Defaultquot;. You should be back in business after that!

I have the 1212, and it's got a great transformer IMO and very high sound quality. But yeah the software is tough to get used to. But as I mentioned definitely go to the website- it's VERY helpful.

Dave thanks for the advice and support unfortunately it doesnt werk as well ad we both hoped i raised my volume on max and i didnt hear any sound after i plugged in my mic and turned on my mixer and the good part is this sound card doesnt give off noise then i lowered it put on some music to made sure the speakers were werking and my music played and they came up on the patch mix levels back to the drawing board
