Man, I need to stop going to music stores on my lunch break. Yesterday I played a Dean EVO Special Select just like the one here in Tiger Eye finish: from : localhost/it's a sweet player. I didn't realize it was made in Korea until after 5 minutes of playing it. Unplugged it resonates really well. The finish is beautiful, neck is smooth. I haven't played a Dean in a long time. This one easily can stand up against an Epi Les Paul. The split coil feature using push/pull knobs is nice. Pickups sound full, with high gain or squeaky clean. I showed my wife a picture of it and she like it, even asked how much it was. That doesn't give the green light by any means but shows her interest. Since I just got my LP in Feb I won't be getting a new guitar any time soon. I need a new amp first.
Which leads to this:
from : localhost/Crate V3112. Very nice amp. The clean is clean, the overdrive is really nice. The mid EQ didn't seem to react too much but the treble and bass sure did. I've been hearing lots of good things about these series amps and this one sure stood up to what I've been reading. The speaker that's in it, or the one I tried anyway, is a 12quot; Tone Tubby. These speakers have a hempcone ( from : localhost/ The projection is unreal. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. If you're looking for a nice tube combo in the 30 watt range, check these V Series amps out.
I have a better chance of getting the amp than the guitar since I need a bigger amp for jamming here and there and I don't want to lug my Marshall around. The V Series seems like the perfect fit for what I'm looking for.
