Have an Epiphone Special II with a high output quot;detonatorquot; in bridge with the standard epiphone pickup in the neck position. Like the setup but am limited to 2 sounds. The impedence difference is too great between them and am not happy with sound when both humbuckers are selected. I am considering doing the following and wonder if you guys can comment if this will work ok.
I have a push-pull switch with a pot on top of it and can install it so I can go series/parallel on the bridge pickup. Am thinking that with the detonator in the parallel position, this should better match the impedence of the neck pickup and give me more sound options especially when both humbuckers are selected. Will this work? My other option is to install an old Super Distortion I have in the neck but am concerned it will screw up my clean sound. Any comments would be appreciated.....Thanks.......A newbie to this forum
welcome to the forum!!
i think the parallel idea is a good one. it should help with the middle position tone. the super distortion in the neck will probably kill your clean tone or atleast change it alot
