for $400 it's fan frickin tastic, seriously, it took me awhile to figure it out, but after i did, oh man, it's so amazing

i won't say it does 100% accurate models, one because i haven't plugged it into a PA amp; used the cab settings amp; all that, and 2 because right now, modeling amps can't really nail tones, the best they can give you is a bunch of good, usable tones. And i guess when it comes down to it, who cares if they're accurate as long as you can get great tones?

this is definately the least 'digital' sounding modeler i've played

only complaint is that theres no line6 edit for it yet, which woulda made things A LOT easier

oh, and this thing seems to do hi-gain real well, the fender ones...actually sound more realistic when you turn on the TS setting but still, great cleans, great crunch

The regular Line 6 Edit 2 should work with the XT Live no problem.

EDIT: Yep, it does. You can get it here

thanks dude

No problemo bro, enjoy. That's a cool little unit, my buddy has one and it sounds pretty damn good. It's cool that they include the effects model pack on it too.

The best thing I find with my pod, is that with the model packes there are just so many tones you can make, and of course you can save everything too, keep us updated on how you like it...

a buddy of mine just bought a Peavey Classic 120 tube power amp to couple with his Peavey 5150 4x12 cab that he has....his idea is to get a J-Station to play with it, but man I wish I could talk him into getting one of those XT Live's....I think it would sound a lot better! but that's just my opinion....maybe I'll talk him into it today...we'll see

Or the Valvetronix Vox desktop version. those things are killer.

actually i've played both amp; REALLY prefer the pod

you can get a good sound out of any amp setting on there, and there are tons, plus its got the footswitches built in, basically more bang for the buck, i guess

oh, and when they come out with a new version, it's free!

Oh man, i need a new modeler so bad. Major gas.

Does anyone like the Behringer V-amp 2? I cant afford an XT right now

a lot of people say its good for the money, but i don't know of anyone who would actually gig with it

xtl is only $400 dude

I have the V-Amp2, and while it's handy, the POD is much better.

1 to dss. The vamp isn't terrible, but it's not very good either.

Not sure that would work too well... The 5150 cab and the power amp are meant to drive guitar amp sounds..... The Line 6 XT Live i'm sure would sound much better straight thru to a PA, or powered Monitor, or a keyboard amp..... All those modeling FX units have never sounded good thru guitar amps and speakers.... but thru FULL RANGE amps and Speakers they sound good..... meant to replace amps not work with them.

But that being said, a guy i know plays his J Station thru the front end of his 1976 Hiwatt Stack.... go figure.....

WhoFan

you, my friend, are mistaken

the xtl has an output mode button, that lets it know if you're plugging into a stack, mixer, whatever, and configures it as such

i run it through my bassman 100 on a daily basis, sounds amazing every time

oh, and the guy in the store told me i could download more amp amp; pedal models from the internet, what do i use for that? i downloaded guitarport amp; it didn't have that option

i was hoping to find some xxx amp; 5150 tones

You'll have to buy the Metal Shop model pack for that. You can download quot;patchesquot; but not models.

They sound like the model packs, you have to pay for them, check out the line 6 site, that'll tell you how much and what tones...

ah, no peavey tones on the list
