Do you guys know what EC was playing on the Cream bootleg from the Ricky Tick Club? I believe the gig was in '66 or '67.
In the program I got when I went to see Cream there were some early photos of him playing a Les Paul with what appeared to be a Bigsby on it. I did not study it carefully, but it could have been a late 50's. No photos of Amps
I believe he was using a Marshall stack and a borrowed Sunbrust LP (since his was stolen earlier). On some of the Ricky Tick bootleg copies it shows them on stage with a young Eric and the Sunburst standing in front of a stack. Small club gig. must have been pretty load.
The best track on that CD is quot;Meet Me In The Bottomquot;. Great riff. That date was in '66 I believe, since it was soon after they were formed and they were playing primarily small clubs.

This is one of the best Cream gear websites around.

He specifically mentions the psychedelic SG on the Ricky Tick bootleg.
The April 22nd Ricky Tick performance features Eric changing between Les Paul and the 'SG'.The 'SG' was used more extensively in the May 11-14 Gears sessions with the Les Paul being used for some of the rhythm/basic guitar.
The LP he mentions is the 3 pickup LP Custom.

That is a great website. Has the most accurate info I've seen on Cream.
Thanks
