For the past two weeks I was dying for a Suhr strat. I was on the edge of buying one daily on the net. But, I fought it and fought it. This morning I woke up and my urge was, for the most part, gone! This has happened before... I think if you fight off GAS for a week or so the urge to buy new gear will slowly fade and you'll save yourself a lot of cash. I know, losing the GAS battle is far more fun but some of us have wives and/or other financial constraints that prevent us for buying new gear all of the time like madmen. I am still going to buy a Suhr but hopefully now I'll wait until I have a large commission check so it won't be an issue.

My advice- before you blow a lot of cash on a piece of equipment sleep on it for at least 10 nights and make damn sure you really need it.

Recently I have gassed for the following:
Marshall DSL401
Epi Dot
Epi Sheraton
Fender Super Strat
Fender Squier MIJ
Ibanez artcore

I noticed the first 2-3 days are very tough. But if you can get to the 4th or 5th day, the GAS should subside. I just try to stay as busy as possible and avoid this forum!!!

I am currently battling GAS for some type of Les Paul, but this isn't a unessecary purchase. I've been bummed about the tone of my SG so I'm consideirng selling it for the LP. We'll see.....

There is no permanant cure for GAS, only a temporary, eventually unsuccessful treatment.

This has happened to me many, many, many times...Alot of the time, it goes away and never comes back, it's just replaced with GAS for another item.Other times, it comes back even stronger. When GAS has returned to you 2-3 times, you know it's time to do something about it. That's why I have a 7 string and DiMarzio's on the way, and bought a 5150 after about 2 years of GAS that has had it's strong and weakpoints.
