Sure made this light cabinet alot heavier though!
The Neo-dogs are all boxed up in the V30 boxes and ready for sale to a forum member or on E Bay...

I'm at work but I got the V30s mounted nice into the Vox cab.Tomorrow I'll run my stereo system into the speakers in hopes of breaking them in A bit before a Tue night practice with my band...Amazing how light the Neo-dogs were compared to the 50 ounce magnets on the V30s....I'll let you guys know the difference between the V30s and the speakers I pulled out when I've spent enough time with them..

Cool beans! I've always loved Vintage 30's. Those, the G12 alnico and the G12H30 are the best 12quot; guitar speakers ever made, IMO...and all are Celestions.

Alot of guys complain about the V30 being to bright...but alot of guys complain about all sorts of things you and I hear as being great! Some guys just don't really want to hear how what they're playing actually sounds I guess... ...I'm amazed at how muffled sounding some guys like thier tone to be.

Personally, I don't want my tone to sound like I have a blanket over the speakers!

Lew the problem is that most guys play alone, at home and get this huge, bass havey sound that sounds nice and full with nothing else going on then when they put it into a band setting they are stepping all over the bass player and/or the other guitar player because a huge guitar tone just does not sit well ina band mix 99% of the time.

BTW...Kick ass John...I hope you can get them broken in enought before pracitce...nothing sounds better than Celections except nicely broken Celestions!

Yep...that's exactly what the deal is. But you're one of the true tone gurus around here Christian... ...you know.

Comming from you, that means a whole lot!

Thanks Lew!

The Vintage 30s sit nicely within the context of my band and the styles and songs we play...They aren't the best clean speakers to play through, but they are versatile enough(for me)anyway,to manage decent clean tones and grind for the heavier classic rock stuff...I never found the mids to be a problem or too overbearing either...The V30s are pretty hard to beat and they sound great in both open and closed back cabs from my experiences with them.
