Follow this link and have a look at Dave Gilmour's signal path.
from : localhost/don't know how many people will have seen this before but I thought I'd post it for those that haven't.
Absolute mayhem! They should give his tech a knighthood or something. I guess this is just what it takes to sound like Gilmour though. I reckon it's worth it.
I should also mention that I've no idea how accurate this is. I was just browsing and I stumbled upon it.
Holy cow, that's absolutely crazy!!
WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT.... WEll thats why it diif to nail his tone
If you think that's crazy, then do not, I repeat DO NOT track down any schematics for The Edge's live rig. You have been warned.
That's what happens when a guitarist has no limitations placed on him. Don't forget....they have a fleet of semi's just to move pig heads and crossed hammers! LOL

Got a link?
man, that's extreme. I have his quot;acousticquot; performance DVD, and maaaan, tasty-tone. I have the Floyd live at the Pompeiii, and maaaan, tasty-tone! thirty years spread...

Let just say a few coffee-table sized pedalboards and three 24-space racks with every kind of gizmo imaginable PLUS sequencers and their triggering systems and power stations and data dumps are on there. It is probably the most massive rig I've ever seen.

I was kinda intrigued by the comment about The Edge's rig. So I looked him up on guitar geek.......
All it showed him using was 2 Strats into 2 delay pedals and each into a Vox AC30
But, if this is right, he doesn't have any amp on his setup.

Thats what he used to use back in the day, and truth be told thats all you really need for his basic sound.
Now all his myriad effects are used like... once per show per song plus he has the job of imitating/triggering keyboard parts.

If you are referring to the Gilmour rig, he has 5 100W Hiwatts. Jeez, you could take over a small country with 5 100W Hiwatts.
And that is an accurate depiction of his live rig for the '94-'95 Division Bell/Pulse tour.
it took you this long to realize david gilmour is nuts????on the other note, all that gear still can't make the edge sound good
All that junk is completely unnecessary.
Cool I Need To Do That
I heard if anyone wanted to copy Davids rig it is about $100,000 USA to start.... The guy who built it said that in a magazine. All of Davids pedals have been modded for lower noise and better operation. It was said David used the EMG's as it was the only way to get his guitar signal to pass thru all of this stuff. It sounded amazing! I was impressed to see David using a small set up at the Live 8 show... I think he had one of his old pedalboards.... ON the 1987-94 Floyd tours his second guitarist used to use Davids old pedal boards....
WhoFan
Half the fun of watching one of the Floyd Live DVDs from recent years is the monstrous rig that just sits smack off of stage left. It looks like someone left a gaggle of filing cabinets with little lights on them.
I have no doubt that Dave would sound good through just about anything. But seriously...look up quot;restraintquot; in the dictionary and his face is not going to be anywhere on that page.

Yeah, but by comparison to OTHER FLoyd members past and present, he appears quite normal.
I had been told that his rig was hideous, and a listening to comfortably numb I believed it, now............I've seen.
