Same thing happened to my edge pro after minutes of tightening it. Any suggestions to keep it tight for a longer time?
Define quot;loose.quot;
What are you tightening in the first place?

The arm holder is loose. What I am tightening is the screw at the bottom of the arm holder. The problem is the screw gets loose after only a few minutes of trem abuse. I've tried duct tape over the screw as someone recommended me, but it doesnt work.
For $15, buy an Allparts bar retrofit kit, which is a screw ON type of bar assembly like an original Floyd has. To install it....
Pull your trem assembly off the guitar. From the underside there should be a screw or pin holding the assembly on the base plate. Get the assembly out with a hammer.
Pound the new one in with a rubber mallet. You may need to use a dremel tool to get it to go in easily. Also, if the cuff part on the new bar rubs the side of the high E saddle, you may have to use a dremel tool to remove a small amount of metal....
Put the trem bridge back on the guitar, a voila, it's got a much better trem arm attachment that always feels tight. It even improves the sustain, since there's no looseness robbing energy from the bridge. Screw ON bars are the way to go.
The screw IN or pop in arms are just ridiculous on a Floyd.....most licensed ones have those.
Thanks for the reply. I rarley use my bar because its such a hassle to keep the arm holder tight.
Did you try tightening the nut on the underside of the arm holder? That would require you to take the trem out of the guitar though. Jemsite.com and Ibanezrules.com have very good instructions on how to do so. Just one good tightening, and it should be tight for good. I have an edge, it it has the same arm holder.
Do you have a link for the retrofit kit?
