After a continuing distaste for single coil pickups, I decided to put the Bill Lawrence humbuckers I had laying around to good use, and convert the strat I cobbled together to an H-H setup. After some great routing work by Theodie, a new Warmoth pickguard, and some custom mounting rings from Dave @ fretsonthenet.com... it is done.

I was only able to play for a few minutes (and through my GuitarPort at that) but the Lawrences sound VERY cool. Tomorrow afternoon I'll crank up the VHT and really put them through their paces.

Also, I wired my tone control backwards , so I have something to fix next time I restring.

BUT....it all boils down to how it sounds for you

I cant read what kind of guitar is that? I really like the neck!

IIRC it was a warmouth special that he put his own custom made logo on to. Looks like you've changed that as well AJ

Close, it's a Fender body and a USA Customs neck, but you're right about the logo change. Good eye! The headstock says quot;McQuayquot;, which is my last name.

Looks pretty good, bro. I also like the chrome pup rings. Very nice touch.I still can't get over that neck. Gorgeous.

I agree, in fact it was the motivation to start this whole process. I absolutely love the way this guitar plays (nice fat neck that goes from a soft V in the lower registers to a C higher up), I just couldn't come to terms with the tone. So I said screw it, I'm converting it.

I am so disgusted. How could you do that to a strat? You are one crazy dude. you should seek counselling. You shoulda put those BL pups on ebay and put dropped's in there. Those BL's look terrible with that pg. I love the pickguard, like the tone/vol knobs. pups are the wrong color for that pickguard and I 'm not a fan of the look of rail/blade type pups.

I bet that baby will rock tho'. I'm glad you had fun with it.
