Here is an updated pic from KMCguitars (Ken) of my new strat. The hardware is all Callaham gold....tuners and everything. Picguard is also Callaham. This is the inspiration for my strat:
My original plan was to go with a blue pickguard, but perhaps green or just staying white is the best plan. I am going with white covers on the singles. I've got APS flats for the neck and middle, and I haven't decided on a bridge pup yet.

The only colors I generally dislike are tortise and black, but who knows. What do you guys think for color?

At first I was gonna say Tortoise but then saw that you don't dig it...of the 2 pictured I'd for sure go with the Callaham guard...it will look killer like that!

What all is Ken doing on this thing anyway???

Transparent Mary Kaye or White (can't remember the exact color now) with a nitro finish. Also doing a nitro finish on the maple/maple neck w/abalone dots. Drilling holes for the hardware. I just sent him a raw body and neck, along with all of the hardware, and he's taking care of everything on the finish.

easy...

Good call, Mike... that's hot.

I don't like the idea of a gold guard personally, too much gold w/ all the hardware IMO and could turn out very gaudy. That said, I'm not big on gold hardware anyways so that could be part of it. I like the looks of the abalone guard in your first post, but they can get pretty pricey (not sure how you feel about spending $100 on a pickguard). I think a black pearl could work in this situation.

I'd go with a matte black guard, and gold knobs. Gold and black are nice together.

Jeff said no black guards . my first choice would be matte black with gold metal dome knobs, gold screws and cream pickups.

I'm boring....

White, parchment or mint green. I HATE anything else on a strat. Not pearly..no shell...just plain old solid white, parchment or mint green. The only other color for a strat I maybe would consider is a black guard on a white guitar ala Jake E. Lee.

Bumperoski.

The photo of the quot;inspirationquot; pickguard is WILD! I like that the best but if not that then a black pearl or possibly abalone?

out the pickguard section.

Thanks for the link B2D. They have an abalone in group E that may work out really well!

no question. gold anodized.

slade

I'd go Fender CS mint or black moto. The one in your picture looks too fufu....black moto would be better than that abalone moto.

black or black pearl for shizzy Jezzy!!!

White Pearl or Vintage Pearl but I think White Pearl would look really sharp.
