I am having a little problems deciding which baby to buy . . . .
Can someone tell me the differences between
1. Custom
2. Classic
3. Studio
4. Standard
AND lt;---big and is Epiphone good for the money? I have an Epi and have been thoroughly pleased with its quality . . . . I have played Gibson LP before, and don't know if theres really that much difference . . . your 2 cents please?
I'd go for the standard. I don't realy care for the classics, and the studio's feel like there's something missing. The customs are nice (drool) but way over priced imo. Plus for me an LP has gotta have a flame top.
The epi's are good guitars, but will probably need some work. After putting in some SD pups and a new switch and other electronics, they're even better. I borrowed my friend's '76 Gibson LP for about a month and did a side by side comparison and couldn't tell a difference in tone from my Epi with a 59n and C5b. The Gibby was denfinetly heavier tho! I'm sure others will argue that there is a tone difference, but for me, my epi captures the tone and vibe just perfectly...
