Check out the graphics on the quot;Blue Magicquot; PEDAL I built...Just using a cheap Walmart Photo Print program...I have to learn how to use fonts for the volume, tone, drive, and switch, but this is a start...And my RAT pedal...
You're really going to make those stand out!
I'm boring. I like the plain MXR lookin' boxes. The more industrial the better.
It's not blue anymore!!
Just kiddin'... nice work!

LOL....I find the photos are alot easier to size, cut, and glue onto my project boxes though...It's the fonts I'm having problems with as far as size and positioning...But I'm learning..
The world needs more Death Ray wielding cherubs.
Are you talking about how to get the names (v,t,d, switch) under the respective holes? How about drawings of the holes on the graphic itself. As long as the drawings of the holes aren't too big, if you're off a touch here and there it won't be visible.
Move the LED so it won't be under your toe.

CNR pic w/ the skinny mic or not..YOU are my new Hero with that comment!
In fact I think some variation on that would be a damn catchy name for a high gain distortion box if John builds one...

Exactly.
I figure, they're going to get stepped on, mounted to pedal boards, probably have to deal with grit and grime and sand from the bottom of my boots and, on a bad day, become the landing zone for the cheap beer some dolt ends up dumping on it at a gig.
Pretty's nice...but functional will last longer. I want something that's going to be waterproof (or at least resistant) that will handle the bumps and bruises of being on the floor. I want something that isn't going to chip the first time it ends up in a case with a few other pedals. I want something whose jacks and knobs are easy to replace when they eventually end up going.
If it has to be a color at least make it be something that will weather well. Go with a dull aluminum or even diamond plating. Go with that weird-ass truck lining material that Scott was brainstorming about putting on amps. Have it be something that will weather well with age, something that when it gets a few dings on it only makes it look better!

I baby my stuff and it stays on my pedal board....At the end of the night I have a cover that snaps tightly over my entire pedal board....The graphics are clear coated and should hold up fine for quite awhile....I'm looking into some thin, stiff, clear plexiglass to place over the top of the pedal graphics...
In the end,it's the killer tone I get from my built pedals though! They sound great...
Looks like a Christmas pedal -- just in time for the holidays.

I wasn't keen on the first one, but that i love! Perfect pic.
I quite like the look of the control knobs with the letter on 'em. Of course, as you rotate the knob, the letter is no longer facing you, but that's part of it's charm. If you can figure out a way to make the V, T, and D permanent, I think it would be great!
I like the graphics, too.
cover it in aluminum foil
for your first attempts at it those look fantastic! - much better than my first pedal decorating attempts

I've been a big fan of building pedal boards. I did one a few years ago and am in the middle of another which should be done once I get around to some routing and ordering the Tolex. Protection is the key, but for something that gets put on the ground pedals are naturally the brunt of some serious abuse over time.
Unfortunately not everyone is as kind to their pedals as we are....
