from : localhost/got anything to say about this? I've been looking for an acoustic electric, and it seems that this one is right down my street.
sounds like a cardboard box with strings
I'd save my $$$ for something better...
Ok, this is gonna sound CRAZY, but I'll defend the Rogue products.
I own a Rogue Herringbone Dreadnaught guitar that I got for $69.
Just to give some background, I own pretty much all american made, high end guitars. LP Standards, american deluxe strats, Martin D28s, vintage gibson firebirds, etc...
I'm not gonna say that the Rogue can even compare to these guitars, BUT...for the price, the rogue is just as good as any bottom-of-the-line name brands out there, maybe even better.
The hitch: the quality control on the rogues are terrible. I got mine, and the tuners werent lubricated, the frets were dirty, the saddle was way too high, the strings were gunky, and the nut slots were WAY too shallow.
But, that being said, if you're into tinkering with your guitar and doing some in-house luthiery and setup, you can turn this $69 dollar chinese import into something that will play like butter and stay in tune very well.
The tone of the guitar: Yes, its bright, and no where near as rich as a martion or any solid wood guitar, BUT, being that it is made of laminate woods, its much more resistant to temperature change and cold and moisture.
The bottom line is, the rogue aint gonna replace a martin, or ever be your main acoustic, BUT, if you want an easy playing acoustic that you can take to the beach, or a BBQ, or a rowdy frat party and not have to worry about it, then the Rogue is the ticket...with a little TLC and setup.
Mine is well worth the $69 bucks. It makes a great spare guitar to keep at my girlfriends place, and keeps me occupied for when she's taking hours getting ready. haha!
Save some $ and get a Martin DX1. The overall quality is tremendously better!
Here.

I dont mind cheap guitars at all. I'm not worried about tone, or any of that. Just playablity. I'm just around to sing my songs and play my guitar. But I was looking for something decent to play plugged and unplugged. I'm fully able to do a complete setup, and a fret dress/refret if need be.
BTW: my two main acoustics are a Marlboro Martin knockoff and a Sears Co OE style acoustic.

As always, the general rule is: Play it first! Takamine or Yamaha would probably be better than that Rogue... and worth the extra $$$ in the long run...
Also try out low end Fenders, Ovations, Martins, and Epiphones...
c'mon guys, I didnt ask for another guitar maker. I just asked the opinion on this guitar. Has anyone tried it?
for the record, I want a cheap guitar.

Looks like you found it!
I haven't played that one, but I bought a Rogue Spider Resonator after reading the reviews on MF and Harmony Central, and I am really impressed with the quality of workmanship and the sound of this $129 guitar. The fret ends are smooth, the binding is done well, the finish is flawless, and it seems to have decent tuners.
My neighbor was so impressed he bought an acoustic/electric bass, and it is decent for the price, as well.
While what everyone else has said about other guitars is true (check out the $99 Jsmine) for $99 you probably can't go wrong.
