I think neck is position 1
Fender, and some other guitar companies, call the bridge #1, but I did a poll in here quite some time back, and the voting was split close to even, (if I recall).

i always thought bridge was 1
I'm not sure? I just think of it as bridge/middle or bridge/neck neck,middle,bridge etc..
I call the bridge position 1.
