I got a new standard Strat and i like it, it's just sometimes i can't stand when i'm picking out a fast solo and as my hand is resting on the bridge it makes the pitch of the notes go up slightly. This can be fu(kin annoying at times. Does anybody have any suggestions that will correct the pitch fluctuations?
And i'll say i almost never use the whammy bar.

...i've heard of people adding a few more springs in tremolo system to make the bridge not float anymore, has anyone heard of that? and what bout string gauge?

Yeah, my Talman's bridge floated a ton with just the 3 springs on there. I slapped 2 more on and it doesn't float at all now, which is fine b/c I don't every use the whammy bar.

Don't worry about extra springs... just tighten up the trem claw (the thing under the plastic cover, with the loop end of the springs attached).

I don't like the bridge to float, pedal steel type bends won't stay in tune. You can add a couple of springs to make it flush, but you will have to adjust the bridge saddles to maintain the action you have now.

And if you really don't want it to move, you can quot;blockquot; the trem. Basically fit a piece of wood between the trem block and body inside the trem cavity.

Yeah, if you dont use your bar often, or not to go up then put it flat. The trem claws would be the easiest and cheapest way. Also, you can (if you have 3 springs) make the outside 2 slant so it sort of form a triangle shape.

you could do that but you do actually get used to having a floating bridge, i kept accidentally pushing it up at first but now ive had it about 6 months i dont have any problems at all with that
