So today I got my C-7 Hellraiser and 5150. It's like ****ing christmas!

First off, I had a ***** of a time with Fedex. I was so pissed at first... The tracking online said a delivery attempt was never made and it would be made on Monday...BULL****! I called them up and low and behold...

Fedex has hands down, the best customer service in shipping. They straightened everything out, and I went down and picked it up...

Opened the box; tones of free **** strapped to the case. A shirt, strap, picks, strings, a ton of stickers and fliers!

DRUM CITY GUITAR LAND IS THE BEST GUITAR DEALER!

Open up the actual case...dear god I nearly fainted. The finish work is perfect. The action was perfect. The setup was perfect. The sound is just... it's insane. It came in tune! The only change I'm going to make to this guitar is change the volume positions places so the bridge volume is nearest to the bridge. Otherwise, it's perfect.

I love 7 strings. It took me 10 minutes to get used to, I kid you not. All you have to remember is that the lowest string is no longer E, and you're set! I love the extended runs and arpeggios I can get, as well as the heavier lower tunings and insane chord voicings! My next axe for sure will be another 7! Probably a 007 or 007 Blackjack, as I want it with passive pickups, but want the 26.5 extended scale. Now for the amp...

I picked this sucker up for 600 out the door, pre FJAmodded at guitar center.

It's a ****ing 5150. It sounds orgasmic. It's very very dynamic, and the cleans aren't that bad at all! On par with the XXX! I love it! The distortion is just... dear god. I can't explain it.

I'll have pictures of everything tomorrow, and clips of the C-7 in the near future!

I haven't been keeping up with your guitar dealings man, what happened tot he C1 Classic? Also what kinda cab are you runnin that 5150 through? I remember you were gassin for a mesa cab or something like that. I'm gonna get myself another 7 but I can't decide between the 007 Blackjack or the C7 Hellraiser, not quite sure about the EMG's.

Returned it because it was way too similar to my other Schecter, and I wanted a 7 string really bad! I'm still running it through that fender 2x12, but I'm getting a Marshall 2x12 in a week or so.

I see, I really couldn't understand having two such similar guitars anyway. Every guitar is different and such but it almost defeats the purpose of having two almost identical instead of something else that'll give you more variety.

I'm so happy for ya Jeff, that RULES! Take some snappies of your new gear!

is that the guitar Jeff Loomis (sp?) plays?

Coincidentally, yes, it is. He's got 2; one identical to mine and one with an OFR, like so;

After playing this for a ton longer... Is it weird that I feel more at home on a 7 than a 6?

christ man, you go through gear like.....socks

Nice, let us get some pictures of both the guitar and your new amp.

how do the 707's sound

Not compared to some people i see on here plus he works damn hard for his $$ and does some smart wheelin and dealin.

Hey Jeff... hope that guitar's finish and the amp's tolex is non-stick.

DSS3,

Sounds like some nice scores.

I wish Schecter offered the Floyd version like Jeff's as a production model.

How is the access to the 24th fret now on the Hellraiser 7.
I remember the original blackjack C7 having terrible access.
The cutaway was not deep enough.
From pics of the H-C7 it looks as though that's been addressed.

Kent

Not to be nosey, but I'm the same age as you(well, a year apart) and WHERE are you getting all this cash?

EDIT: I should mention I don't have a job at the moment.... that could be it.

Jeff works hard to get that stuff.

Very cool Jeff! We don't have the same taste in music, but you and I do share a good taste in gear . By the way, what is the FJA mod?
