i know there have been a buch of posts on this but i am really impressed.

does anyone know what i mean?

i put together a 1-piece mahogany body oil finished ( amazing looking!) with a one piece birdseye maple neck.

JB in the bridge

callaham trem.

it sounds so so amazing. sustains forever and is musical.
i was used to playing cheap guitars before and this is weird almost to play something so good.

i went to a shop and compared it to a Les Paul and i am sorry but it was quite a bit better that the Paul. does this make sense?

the Les Paul had this nasty light rosewood ( indian) and did not sound nearly as punchy or rich as the one i put together. plus the work done on the Les Paul was crap. and it cost 3000 euro!!! nuts!

i put together mine for 700Euro

anyway, USACG is amazing, the only problem now is that i want to make another!

USACG does some great work, I got a neck from them for my strat. Post some pics of your new axe!

in a couple weeks, I'll be posting finished pics of my '54 model strat made from USACG parts ... very nice

it has crossed my mind to build a Fender Esquire....but I can't convince myself to do anything gear related (hard to justify it in my mind, considering I love my equipment as it is)....if I did, I'd probably go USACG for my neck as well...mmm...maple/rosewood neck on a blonde finish esquire body....still unsure what pickup I'd choose for it..but it'd be butter, absolute butter

Bump

Yes, it does. I don't think anything can match something you took the time to do yourself. The extra love put into it can make a big difference.

I know exactly what you mean about playing cheap, poorly made instruments. You don't realize what you're missing until you get to experience something so much better. I can't hardly play my old Epiphone Strat. I don't know how I ever learned on it.
