Partly to annoy Hamerplyer with another poll (hee hee) and partly because I want to fight brightness in my guitar tone, which brand has the brightest sound?
I know this isn't very fair, as it all depends on the type of strings, etc, but generally, which gets your pick for the brightest?
I don't know if they're the brightest, but I like to use GHS in darker sounding guitars.
GHS Guitar Boomers
Everly B52's
GHS are slightly brighter than other brands I've used, but the material the string is made of really makes the most difference. Stainless steel strings are the brightest.
Ryan
ernie balls
they're too bright, makes me instantly hate any guitar with them
ernie balls are plenty bright, but after they tarnish black they're just right for me. For me, the best sounding strings are the ones that sound good when they're tarnished, cause ill spend more time playing tarnished strings than brand new unplayed strings....
Dean Markley Blue Steels are pretty bright.
Not so much the brands as it is the material. Stainless Steel is by far the brightest. I use Ernie Ball, and they're awfully bright.
Gibson Brite Wires
D'Addario imo... even the nickel plated ones are really bright...
I've tried Gibsons, Fenders, EB, D'Addarios', and Boomers, and I'd say Boomers were the brightest.
Those DR Tite Fits I tried once were bright enough to shatter glass. UGH.
