Either Ash or Alder. I'll start with a bought Fender Tele as a base than add the mods. I won't necessarily stick to that pickup configuration, because I don't have any Teles, and I don't want my only Tele to be a Strat in disguise.

No, I'll probably keep the stock Fender one. I like them for some reason.
