I've been reading about the Boss FT-2 Dynamic Filter pedal. Is this thing like the Dunlop Q Zone, which gives you the stationary wah thing for leads and such? Are there any websites that describe what different effects pedals do? Thanks to anyone who can help.
Yeah, an envelope filter is an 'auto-wah' kind of thing that varies depending on how hard you pick.
Grateful Dead on quot;Shakedown Streetquot; is one well-known example.
It is also worthy to note that in the 70's it was used on a lot of disco/funk bass parts.
So it keeps wah-ing like rocking your foot back and forth? No stationary position? I'm looking for a pedal that give an extremely middy honky nasal sound...Q Zone is the only pedal out there that I know of.

Is that how the BeeGee's got that funky bass line to quot;Jive Talkinquot;

That is correct, there is no notch postion for it. My Boss GT3 adn VG88 both have a filter option for the wah where you can set it to do that: no wah, just a notched 1/2-down-wah pedal tone.
