OK, say you are playing a full step bend, then you hold that bend, and as you slowly release it you play stacato (think Angus Young this is a very common classic rock lick) notes.
Question is; how do you produce the stacato? Because I've been kind of quot;digging inquot; to kill the note; I guess with the tip of my index finger and I don't think thats the right way.
This technique is used in other situations. Like killing a bend before you release it.
Any tips would be welcome
...or would you use the side of your palm?
Pick and push your hand into the strings. Then pick again, push it into the strings... Etc...
I haven't got a guitar with me at the moment so i cant 100% confirm, but i think i tend to up pick the note so that my index finger naturally hits the string after the note has sounded.

I tried out my theory and that is not right, i use the outside part of my thumb to mute the string as i up pick.
