:ramble:
I'm a bit nervous right now....
Today it comes via the brown truck....
the Magic Pedal....
The Plexi-tone....
everything in my setup hinges on this little teeny pedal....
If it gives me *THE TONE* through the Rivera at lower volumes then:
59's get replaced by the Super Distortion/PAF, I need to grab a new chorus pedal, and a delay as well....the PODXTL and Atomic then go to The Bay...
If the Plexi-Tone does NOT work out then:
The Atomic, POD XTL and 59s stay...The Rivera, SuperD/PAF and my MXR EVH go to The Bay....
everything is hanging by a thread...(barring the guitar itself)..
It's all you Rid!
Details tonite...
This thread will be useless without clip.
I know....
just thinkin out loud....
it's kinda like The One Ring....such a small thing....yet its the key to everything in my tonedom
LOL...I have a feeling you're gonna plug that PlexiTone in to the Riveria, slam a few chords with the Standard and have to catch your jaw on its way to the floor..... Try it with the 59's first.

I hope you are right....though I'm happy *NOW* with the Atomic/XTL/59 rig.
Will def try 59s first as I won't be able to get the new pups in for a bit.
Don't you swap your own pickups?

Yes, you should. It is not hard at all. I learned when I was 14. I had stripped my first electric guitar down to nothing and put it back together the way it was. My parents were pissed when I did that. They saw it laying there without a neck and asked, quot;what did you do that for?quot;. I just told them I wanted to see how it was put together. It worked fine after reassembly. They didn't bother me about it anymore since I got it working again.
Pickup swaps are cake. The 59's in there are most likely 2-conductor (outer braid=ground). The fun part about pickup swapping is the different color codes between makers.

The one pedal, to rule them all :
Do keep in mind it makes you invisible onstage, and attracts the Pedalwraiths and the evil eye of the Dark Lord as soon as you switch it on! But if you don't like it, you can always throw it into the lavapits of Mount Doom.

Hmmm..wonder if the cloak of invisibilty will extend to the ladies room?

The Key, you have the key. I didn't know that RID was key maker. I know he has exceptional knowledge. I didn't know this.
Rid's reputation is really in JeffB's hands now. Is that safe?

Does Rid know this?
If it does not work...blame the Rivera
(never liked those amps much)
Hehe well what Rivera do you have?

Ahh..pass the buck.... It's the Chubster 40 combo. And yes, I know you don't have much love for Rivera's Rid, but this is the only one in the line I considering buying after playing a few of them (Pubsters/Clubsters, Fandango, R30). Hopefully the two will make a good combo....
bwahah...combo? get it?

I think it's the other way around....if I can't get a good tone outta Rid's pedal...there's absolutely no doubt in my mind I suck, will always suck, and should sell all my gear cos playing is pointless
Hmm....I've been thinking about picking up my first Bass....
you make an SuperBassTONE Rid?
Chubster..is that a Fender voiced one??
Lol sorry I am abit of the oldschool regarding amps
They make good amps, just not my style.

It's basically an R series in a bigger cab/combo for better bass response and less of a boxy sound the R combos got/get. I had a R(or M? cant remember) series combo briefly 15 years ago and hated it. This Chubster is much better.
Fender voicing on one channel...Marshall on the other.
SuperBassTONE..lol like a 200 watts top??

EDIT: It's Here....at my desk in my office, just opened the box....it's certainly BUILT like a tank...wow...
