Okay the other day I go buy a hygometer and a humidifier for my guitar. I stick in in the case and it says 34% percent humidity the next morning the same thing. The next day I check it and it is still at 34%. The third day I try add a room humidifier. I check it the next morning both the room and the case are at 34%-36%. So today I add a damp sponge along with the sound hole humidifier. Still nothing has changed. My room humidity and the temp in the room with the guitar has been holding at about 34% humidity and 67 degrees.
How can I raise the humidity? Nothing has worked so far. Should I just give it a few more days?
Thanks,
edm
Well, for starters, quit opening the case.
I know from experience my cigar humidor doesn't go up unless I let it sit for at least a few days. And then if I keep it open for a minute it will drop pretty fast.
If you're going to be so jittery about it then buy something like a room humidifier.
Just out of curiousity, what sort of guitar are you trying to keep in these optimal conditions?

That not opening the case thing is a bit of a problem because I play my guitar all of the time. Also I bought a room humidifier but it did nothing. An Ovation Balladeer its a non cutaway version.
Well, if it's a room humidifier make sure the door is closed and remains as much so as possible. Be sure the seal is air-tight. If you've ever been in a designated and climate controlled acoustic room at a major shop you should have a good idea of what it needs to be like.
But being in the case with a room humidifier going...if the case is tight then it's going to act as a block against the outside humidity.
34% RH should be okay.
