Which guitar gem did you sell or trade (or whatever) that makes you sick now when you think about it? Even 16 years later.
For me Gibson Explorer and Hamer Special.
What a dumb kid I was!
Epiphone EB0 bass... not the best player, but it looked so damn cool... At least I could have hung it on the wall or something.

I have only lost 2 guitars in my whole life.... One was my Kramer that i smashed and glued back together again and again until it fell apart for good.... Other was a nice Bass a guy my older sister was seeing gave me.... He showed up 10 years later wanting it back. Besides that i have kept every piece of gear since about 1990 on.... In 1989 i sold off a Marshall and some effects that i would kill to have back. Since i sold that stuff and missed it so dearly i hang onto whatever i buy.....

I don't really have many selling regrets. I have had a few buying regrets though. my gibson faded flying V for instance...
Actually, I do regret selling my tonebone pedals. I'd like to see how those sound again...
believe it or not i regret selling my ibanez talman that i sold at the same time as a les paul custom plus thinking i needed money before my son was born. after i had checked my statements noticed i didnt but it was too late it had sold.i didnt feel bad about the paul but if id known i didnt need the money im sure id have become attached to it but when i sold it i felt no connection to it as it had no soul.i also felt kinda dumb after selling my mxr phase 45 and then finding out i could have possibly had it modified.
I regret, to differing degrees, all the guitars I've had to sell. I'd love to keep them all. My biggest regret is selling my Gibson MIII. Doh!
My Ibanez RG450DX and my Epi Les Paul... the Ibanez cuz I was too stupid to know how to redo electronics back then and the Paul for sentimental reasons.
i've never actually sold off any of my guitars.
i gave away my favorite guitar, but i don't regret it...yet.
My PRS Custom. Heck, now I'm crying again.....
A 95 PRS Custom 24 w/birds in vintage sunburst with the BEST flametop I've ever seen on any guitar in the world. I was SO proud of that guitar when I owned it, and sold it like a jackass. That thing would have just increased in value.
Besides the Black Beauty 3 pickup Custom I currently have, I had another 2 pickup model in the mid 90's I should have held onto. I wish I had that back.
54 Custom Shop Relic Strat. Sold it for $800 when I was in need of quick cash.
It was worth $1500 or more.
Recently, I've started to wish I'd held onto my Les Paul Gem Series Studio with P-90's. It was dark, dark purple with gold hardware and cream pickups.
The only amp I wish I'd never sold was my 96 Matchless DC-30. At least I didn't sell the Chieftain. I also wish I still had my Blues Pearl Texas Tornado, which was a Deluxe clone.
'71 goldtop LP Deluxe
'74 walnut SG Standard
'80 black Tele
Amp - original Marshall JTM45 head from the '60s
An all original '73 Telecaster Custom. The 'Keith Richard's' model. I sold it in '91 for a mere $400. I see them going for $1600-$2000 now. I'm a moron....
all of them!
I regret NOT buying a couple.
Les paul Black Beauty and a Washburn Nuno N4.....and to make matters worse I pretty much gave both of those away.

Well...that's really a bit of hyperbole. I don't really get sick.
Just a lot of wishin' that I still had those guitars.
I regret selling all of the Gretschs I have owned throughout the years.
I had a Brian Setzer 6120 Signature, A 6131 JetFirebird,A6129T SilverJet, and a 1963 6119 Tenneseean that my dad sold.
Also a few Pauls and thats about it....ohh and my Mesa RectOVerb series 2. That was the best amp I have ever owned.
The All-Time Worst: I had a Jackson Limited Edition RR Polka Dot quot;Vquot;, I bought it for a steal at GC, THEN returned it to get a TC Electronics G-Force that I needed to record a CD. Right now, that guitar would easily be worth $1000 more than I paid.
Also, I bought a wonderful ESP strat replica from Mars Music on closeout for like $600. It was a great guitar and I really dug it. That same day I bought a new Kawasaki Jet Ski. My wife dug the Jet Ski but had a cow when she saw the new guitar... back to Mars it went
No regrets selling my Jem 7VWH, ESP Skull and Snakes, or Jackson SL-1- great guitar just don't miss'em much.
'80s Ibanez Artist
I miss the slew of 7 strings I went through (UV777BK, ESP H207, Schecter C7 ). The one that was head and tails above the rest was an RG7620 I got for about $200.
I also had an RG550LTD with a black pickguard that was just an amazing player of a guitar.
I can't say I regret selling them entirely; I stopped playing metal and thusly they really had no place in my house. There was no sense in me keeping them; they were meant to be played and any twinge of regret I feel is quickly forgotten by the fact that I put them in hands of folks who would be playing them.
I came damned close to unloading the second Greco I got before it even landed. I'm glad I didn't; it's probably the best overall Les Paul I've ever played.
