With a drill.

I was a little nervous with a power tool around my Lester, but I drilled away and installed the picguard. Little wood shavings everywhere....but I survived.

I just cant do the Les Paul without the picguard, regardless of how much flame there is. Just seems nekid.

pics?

i kinda like LPs without pickguards...

way to kill a good thing lol....plastic on les pauls is just sinful....BOOOOOOO

This is the best one I have for now....the light here is not good for taking pics today. The picguard was just sitting on the guitar in the pic, not screwed in, but I like it better. The goldtop was already drilled, but my burst was not.

I agree. The shape of the pickguard offsets the curves nicely and is integral to the 50s styling (IMO)

I knew I could count on my quot;brutha from annutha mutha (accross the pond)quot; to agree with me on this one. I think we're in the minority.

minority for sure...i say melt every LP pickguard an make some picks hehehe

it is a classic look though and isn't bad i just tend to like clean and sleek LPs with no guard. but it doesn't look bad, i just like picking on those who drill holes in pretty guitars just to cover it with plastic hehehehe

1. i like the stripped down look on LPs too.

on the other hand some LPs look great with pickguards for the quot;old skoolquot; look, for eg. the Goldtop.

I personally like pickguards on most Les Pauls!!! There are just a small handful of models where I could do without it.

Dean Hardtail, one of the nicest double cut guitars on the planet...highly underated. Puts every PRS that I have personally played to shame. I can't say all PRS, just the one's I have experience with. Some don't like the size of the upper bout, but I say they're just jealous because their's isn't as big. Some of us are blessed.

wow! dean hardtail huh? i dig the quot;asymmetricalquot; look on it, ie. one horn bigger than the other. everytime i think dean i think of those typical metal stuff. this is something different. Originally Posted by Jeff_H

yeah i know man. and that doesnt only apply to the size of the upper bout. some pple are jealous abt the size of other stuff too.

It's actually just an 03' Standard. Several people who have seen it in person ask if it's a Historic. It has that subtle flame with some mineral streaks...like some of the originals and Historics have.

Mike.... I was actually at Splawn today...having him mod my new 1960A cab. I didn't see your amp or cab there....and I looked around. Let me know if you want me to check it out before it ships. I'd be happy to put the first ding in it for you.!!!!

Yay for pickguards! They make Les Pauls look sexy!
