Hey guys, it's me again.
I was wondering if you guys could help me out? I'm looking for a powerful bridge humbucker that can handle lead parts too. I rarely use the neck humbucker alone and I sometimes use the neck/bridge selection, for a nice full sounding clean sound...for like Shinedown and some other stuff. But the point is , is that I always use the bridge humbucker, so I was wondering if you guys know of a pickup that I could buy that is really good at very high punk/metal distourtion and still good for some cleans and vintage sounding distourtion? Since I use the neck/bridge combo, do you guys know what a good combo would be?
Well I'm out for now!
Rock On!
Oh btw, I do sometimes tune my guitar down to drop D sometimes to C.
Shinedown, good band; unfortunately they had too much bass in the mix when I saw them.
Anyways, I would go with the Custom if I were you. It will have the grind, and output, but it also has very useable cleans. The next step up is the Distortion.
What kind of guitar is this going to?
I don't use my neck pup alone either. I use the bridge and bridge neck pos I like to have the two blended in where you still get quite a bit of bridge crunch. Clean I use the neck and with my jazz it sounds great.Luke
I will eventually get a Schecter Blackjack Tempest...it has a 59/jb combo but I think that I would want to change the jb to a distourtion becuase they get good reviews and for the heavy stuff too. I play mainly puck rock...but I do play a lot of metal too.
So you are putting a distortion in this Schecter, but what is this going in, a Schecter you already have?
Even though you are tuning down, maybe because you are tuning down I say stick with the custom.
Luke
I'd go with a JB. I've never thought that it lacked bass or anything, and it really shines as a versatile pickup.

LukeExactly. You don't wnat your sound to turn into mud. I might go so far as to recommend a Screamin Demon or even a 59b because you will be tuning down.
I was thinking maybe a combo including the Invader (bridge) and a JB (neck)
maybe two invaders
My favorite band right now is Avenged Sevenfold and thats what they use. But I also want to go to different bands too
Also the guitar that I am going to get has already a 59 (neck) and a jb (bridge)...i could just leave that

I haven't had any experience with the demon, or a 59 b especially with tuning to C.
