Hey guys.

Some of you may have seen a thread I posted a month or two ago, with a picture of a custom painted early 70s Gibson SG. Well the fix for the neck ended up being easier and cheaper than I thought. Who ever put the new bridge on it screwed it in incorrectly and this caused a lot of tension on the neck via the strings. Readjusting the bridge and working on the trus rod a little solved the issue and it only cost me $50, as well as a great setup.
She sounds pretty killer and she's really comfortable in my arms. I forgot that the neck scale on Gibsons is considerably shorter and that took me a while to get used to, but it's a lot of fun to play. I think I need to get one of the strap button holes retapped and shell be ready to gig with.

I've got a pretty versatile rig now.... The Satriani with awesome coil tap for Strat like tones, the RG7620 for heavy metal/prog rock, and the SG for that classic rock/blues. I think the Satriani is still more versatile for blues, but the SG just has more wham with every note.

Can anyone tell me what kind of pickups would have been installed stock in an early 70s SG?

Thanks guys! Comments on SGs too/?

70ies SG's rock! Does yours have a volute too?
The original Pickups for these were Pat. nr. ...... (don't remember the exact number) ones, the direct descendends of the real PAF's.
Funny thing is that the patent number on the decals were the wrong ones and showed the number of the trapeze tailpiece.

where are the pictures?

I tried going on that site but my screen reader isn't too friendly with the way that site is wrotten (legally blind/using a program that acts as a narrator for my PC). Can I email someone a pic and can someone post it for me? Come on guys, you'll flip when ya see this baby. Fortunately I can see well enough to make out some of the figures on the body.

Yeah, my e-mail is admin@devillous.com.

Pic sent, thanks man!

Sweet axe man!

That is really, really cool. Also very unique, I love all the contrast and bright colors.

Hahaha! I love that. Everybody needs just a little more wham sometimes.

I love that SG... just screams Clapton, but obviously a bit different than his SG was. I like the gold hardware too... Nice man!

That looks amazing. I gotta get myself something like that.... *wonders in thought*

Thanks for the complaments guys! Yeah she sure is a beauty and a lot of fun to play. But my Satriani is still my number one geetah. I got two Clapton quot;learning booksquot; or w/e. I just buy them for the backing tracks without leads to jam along with. I feel some Clapton jammin' coming on haha.

That SG is stunning!

Awesome, that looks stunning dude.

Very Cool...now ya need to go play/learn quot;I feel freequot;

quot;bum bum bum bumbumbum....quot;

Pups could be T-Tops, but you would have to take the covers off to know for sure

Lol, the ultimate hippie axe
