I was going to custom order one with an ebony fret board but decided I'd go with a rosewood (since I already have ebony on the Dean). I went with Wolfe Guitars...a little more money but his reputation and specs on the guitar prompted me to go there. The guitar is exactly what I'd order if I did a custom order (after reading Kanight's reviews on his). I'm not sure about the Seth Lovers (see post in pickup lounge) but I've heard so many rave reviews about them from LP players I figured I'd give them a whirl.

And the waiting begins.

that's a nice ax!
very nice flame

I think you'll love the Seths ... warm and responsive, but with a little edge, too.

Can't wait to see more pics and hear some clips!

Should be great.

Chip

Congrats, man. I think you'll be very pleased with your 150.

gotta love those heritages.

What I really want to know when you get it, is how does the neck compare to the 50's reissue necks I've gotten really used to...

WOW!!! Thats nice. What does that set you back if you dont mind me asking?

That looks great! Flametops like that look so much better without the pickguard, IMO.
Be glad it's not coming with 498/490's or 57 Classics. Seths are much better as we all know.....plus, if you ever want something different for the bridge, you could always trade for a nickel CC or C-5. I have a junkdrawer full of Gibson pickups! he he

Awesome!

I'm pretty excited to see it in person. I wasn't even considering one with a pickguard, so that ruled out quite a few other desirable H150's. After reading Kaknight's review of his H150, I decided I like the notion of sticking to those late 50's specs. I got lucky since that N. Michigan maple cap has the flame to it. I like Kaknight's cap but I've got that sorta look on the Hardtail so I wanted to complement that.

I'm assuming I'll like the Seth but I've got NO experience with it whatsoever. I couldn't even tell you when I've heard it on a tune (and I'm assuming I have).

CHC,
Very cool. She look beautiful.
Congrats.
Definitely post more pics when you get her.

By the way, did you ever get a chance to try out the Dean EVO Premium you were talking about from Florida or something?

I couldn't find one locally to try and I ultimately decided to go with the H150.
As you know from my PM's, it was neck and neck for a while (pun intended).
The clincher was when decided to go with the rosewood fretboard.

I'm headed to Fort Myers this weekend for a family reunion of sorts, so on Saturday I'm going to hijack my Mom's car with my brother and nephew and seek out the guitar shop that has the Dean Evo. I'll keep you posted.

congrats - she's a beauty ... enjoy and play in good health ... i'm guessing you'll love the seths

cheers,

That beautiful, enjoy!

CHC as I told you a while back I think you'll be VERY happy with it. Warm but spanky. i haven't had experienc with the seths either but you know with them being duncans their at least sell-able.

Luke

WoW!!!

It's a really beautiful axe, you've heard the SEths on many occassions if you've ever listened to old PAF recordings. You'll see what I mean when you get them.

But, I disagree with most of you. That guitar needs a cream colored pickguard and a matching switch ring for the 3way.
