I have an old Floyd that was spray painted blue. What's the best way to remove the paint?

Turpentine (paint thinner) will do the trick, but you don't want to do it while it's attached to the guitar....then the paintjob goes bye-bye.

Wait, it was a chromed floyd, right?

Yeah

If you have a Dremel you can put a buffing wheel on and buff it off.Or you can use a metal polish and take it off by hand.
Mothers Chrome and Mag is good. You could also try automotive tar remover for chrome.

Thanks, I'll try that next time I can get the store (if I need to). I found some paint stripper so I let that soak on it, and rubbed the paint off. I got most of it off, but there's still a lot of grime between the saddles, and I don't have the right hex key to take them off. Someone is interested in buying it so I'll ask him if it's okay the way it is.

Oven cleaner and a toothbrush!

Fine (0000) steel wool, followed by a bit of metal polish on the original chrome when the paint is off
