A friend gave me a Texas Tele bridge pickup that had a break in the start of the wind. The break is in between the eyelet and where it disappears inside the coil. I have tried soldering wire onto the end of the start wrap and connecting it to the eyelet, but I'm not getting continuity. Is there a way to fix this without rewinding the pickup?
If you can find the end just unwind a complete turn and then solder back into the eyelet.

Exactly. Good advice.
I've fixed pickups with broken finish wraps this way, but this is the start of the wind, so it's a bit more difficult to get to the inside layers of the coil to pull some out. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Can this be fixed w/o a rewind?
