My R8 just arrived at work...case is a little cold though, and I'm afraid to open it up right away

how long should I let it warm up before opening? (I've never had to do this before)

don't be a wuss just open it.

Okay Jeff, there is a simple 3 step method to this.
1) Open her up
2) Photograph her
3) Post pictures here

then, all will be better

Is there any point in replying to this?

What you really mean is, you opened it just as you were leaving for the bathroom, so that you could frame whoever it was that took a look


It's pretty in the general sense...nice plaintop figure...

From first impressions, I'm a little (not much) disappointed in the QC. My Hamer is/was flawless: 10 outta 10. There's some cosmetic issues on the R8...nothing major...little stuff (a little red stain from the neck on the binding..couple little finish niggles at the headstock)..9 outta 10.

But if it plays and sounds great, it's not a deal breaker by any means...I sent back my MF Deluxe for those type of things and have been kicking myself for past 8 months about it.

I'll give it a workout tonite after I get my boy to bed.

This thread is useless without Pics. I have nothing more to contribute....

Uhm..I just spent about 5 minutes messing around with it...

Acoustically this thing is incredible.....better than the hamer....resonance is ....startling.....I don't think I've ever handled a guitar with this much resonance.....setup is fantastic right outta the box...

have to run now...more later...
