Anyone have any info on a fender amp from the late 70's called Bassman 135? A friend of mine is going to have a look at one and if it is cheap enough he'll pick it up.... but where could we find info on this amp?

i have a bassman 100 which is pretty close to the same thing, i don't have any complaints other than the mid control...doesn't seem to control the mids, more like the voicing of the amp
I used to have a Silverface Bassman 70. Very loud and incredible clean tone. I only sold it to fund a Marshall purchase.
I had a 77' Twin 135 watts It use's a Linear Transformer to get 135 watts
from 4 6L6's. Mine was stupid LOUD !! and a little sterile. I put Celestions
in it to warm it up a Lil'. I loved the way it sounded,But it was overkill
for most gigs. Oh yeah ,I almost forgot... It was stupid heavy to. If it
didn't make me deaf it most certainly helped put my spine out.
Ya i bet this Bassman 135 will be a pure volume pig! I have heard those late 70's silverface amps can be insane for volume on some models..... Still i can't ever remember a Bassman 135 model... May be a rare model...

Google is a wonderful thing...
The Fender Super Bassman, Bassman 100, and Bassman 135 were the same amp, just made in different years with an increased wattage..
The Super Bassman was made from 1969 to 1971, the Bassman 100 was made from 1972 to 1976, and the Bassman 135 was made from 1977 to 1983
Fender Bassman (Super/100/135)
I had the Bassman 70 for a couple of years. I had it modified so that ch 1 fed into ch 2.
Sort of like a boogie, it had 2 gain stages before the master vol, each with tone controls. Made for a pretty good 1 sound amp, I could get a lot of different sounds, just one at a time. Got rid of it when I went back to combos.
That's what I like about the Fender silverface amps, they're still handwired point to point, but they're not so collectable that modding them is a terrible sin.
Hey thanks for the info guys!!!!
